One of the things I like about N-Drip system, it’s very simple system to use. And we've got the N-Drip Connect, it's a good backup system for when you're looking at your paddock. In the 30-hectare block, bottom end, only did 2.5 bales a hectare where the dry land section was and the N-Drip did 7 bales.
N-Drip is an excellent solution for converting dryland into irrigated cotton. I personally utilized N-Drip this season on a 50ha block. The results were excellent. If I had grown this block as dryland cotton, I would have probably achieved 2.7Ba/ha as this was my dryland cotton average, but with N-Drip, we semi irrigated and yielded 11.5Ba/ha.
It's been a great journey with N-Drip. We are always looking for efficiencies, and the whole cotton industry over the last 20 years has doubled their water use efficiency from 1Ba/ML to 2Ba/ML. That quest of increasing productivity continues, and N-Drip is a large part of it.
We are happy with the average of 7.42 bales per hectare picked, given our dryland cotton averaged just 1.45 bales per hectare, with only 3.3 megalitres of water per hectare used as a supplementary irrigation solution, this was a great result.
